Funky Fairtrade Garden Art - BACK IN STOCK

Our funky garden wall hangings are back in stock.

The recent earthquake in Haiti completely destoryed the  warehouse where this fair trade organisation operates from. We give thanks that no one was injured but this did leave many of the artisans with no employment when they really needed it most. They have now managed to put up temporary tents to work from and are producing their lovely creations once more.

Each wall hanging is cut out from re-used oil drums and hand painted with a vibrant design using brightly coloured paints. Making each one these garden wall hangings truly unique.

Some examples of their beautiful handicraft:

Above is an example of the Dragonfly, Tree Frog and Butterfly designs

These wall hangings are fairly produced meaning that the artisans are treated and paid fairly. There are currently 400 artisans working at Drexo. Typically every salary in Haiti (due to a high unemployment rate) supports approx 9 people. Drexco's aim is to get the warehouse back up and running and to employ 2000 people.

See below the process each one of these wall hangings goes through:

A wide range of these designs are available online at : www.LovethySpace.co.uk
prices range between £9.80 to £ 16.90 depending on the size.

Defrosting at Garden Organic

After months of the cold we are finally seeing a bit of sunshine peeking through the trees. Daffodils are in full bloom and the gardeners seem to be coming out of hibernation. I'm told there is a lot of exciting new plants being put in for the up and coming summer displays which will be worth a visit.

Bunches of Daffodils gracing us with their presence

see the Garden Organic website: http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/ for more information on events and transport links.

Hope to see you soon
